Let’s see... Wanting it to be over with? We are getting a return because the taxes on the disbursement are spread out over three years, and we need the money because it’s been a long, hard, year from hell, and we have a kid to feed? We want to blow our return at the casino because we are degenerate gamblers? We like paying taxes?
what’s it to you anyway?
I had my taxes withheld from mine. 👏🏻
It's not just the 10%, but taxes on the whole withdrawal spread out over 3 years. So, you can see why people are eager. Some need to plan ahead, and determine the impact this year.
Has anyone tried TurboTax today? Seems like it's updated. I went back to where I had left and I don't get that message that I need to revisit this section anymore.
I am using the online version.
It is not updated yet.
From what I see it’s not updated yet .
This is what I see and it gave me back the 10% penalty and lets me split the taxes into 3 years payments... I am using Turbo Tax premium online version.
Is this available for the deluxe version as well this morning? Has anyone tried that version yet?
The distribution can also be spread out over 3 years - some of us don't want to be tossed into the next tax bracket either.
no update as of yet... seems online has been updated.
Ok what in the actual funk is going on. Entire thing on turbo tax is wrong. As in capitally. You follow all the guidelines and it gets you to the page of whether or not you have been impacted by covid 19. And then you either have to pay $12,000 or they give you a $1,800 refund. If you check the box to pay all tax (33%) on the distribution it jumps to $12,000 owed. If you uncheck it, they give you $1,800 back.
Where is the box to "pay across 3 years". Unchecking that box basically does not charge you any tax of the 33% that you have to pay.
Something is seriously screwed up there.
I don’t see an update yet for the business turbo tax.. what’s going on?
The three year pat back is important when you have 100,000 to pay over three years vs one year.
I don't see it at all. Did you need to clear your return and start over?
That’s correct .
