When I save my files to Turbotax, the file shows ending "Tax Return.tax2022.tax.tax2022" Shouldn't this file just be when "Tax Return.tax2022" Should I rename it?

My last year's files are stored as " 1040 Individual Tax Return.tax2021" files.

You should make a copy of that file before you change anything. The extension should be .tax2022. After you copied the file, you can delete the second .tax2022
