When I e-filed my California state tax return, I chose to have the tax due automatically deducted from my checking account. Why did California still send me a bill?

This is the first time it has happened.  CA has already accepted my returns but it looks like CA is acting like it doesn't know about the automatic deduction.  I do not want to pay twice, but at the same time, I want to make sure they get the money on the due date.

If you confirmed that the payment was deducted from your bank account, then don't pay it again.

If you have questions about a bill from the Franchise Tax Board, see this webpage for contact options.
