What will be my filing status ? Married June 20 Wife (US citizen) has a 11yo child and adopted her They live in Japan now and will come to US in 2021 She quitted job

All questions were put into 1 line unexpectedly, so here is formatted one.
- Married June 20
- She (U.S. citizen) has a 11 years old daughter and I adopted her (She is a permanent resident status)
- They live in Japan for now and will be coming within this year (so, not qualified for half-year test)
- She quitted job for this move

I am wondering if I can claim married file joint and claim child as a dependent or I should file as married separately

If you were married on or before Dec 31 2020, then your filing status is either Married Filing Joint, or Married Filing Separate. Generally, MFJ is the better way to file tax-wise.
