What is Amounts received pursuant to the COVID-19 Relief Grant included in federal income

The California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program was created to provide micro grants (from $5,000 to $25,000) to small businesses and not-for-profit entities impacted by COVID-19 and the related health and safety restrictions.

Governor Newsom signed this package into law to provide much-needed relief for the small businesses of CA. It provides $2 billion for grants of up to $25,000 for small businesses impacted by the pandemic.

California has several programs for businesses, entitled COVID-19 Relief and Assistance for Small Business.  They are summarized on the California State Comptrollers website, and can be found by clicking here.
