What are the qualifications for the Senior Head of Household Credit?

Is this a state tax credit of some type? I don't believe there is such a credit for a federal tax return.

What are the qualifications for the Senior Head of Household Credit?

Assuming you mean CA.

Credit for Senior Head of Household — Code 163

You may claim this credit if you:

  • Were 65 years of age or older on December 31, 2019.*
  • Qualified as a head of household in 2017 or 2018 by providing a household for a qualifying individual who died during 2017 or 2018.
  • Did not have AGI over $78,441 for 2019.

I believe TurboTax will calculate if in the CA interview if you qualify.

What are the qualifications for the Senior Head of Household Credit?

Turbotax is giving me the Senior Head Of Household tax credit even though my daughter did NOT die in the last 2 years. I am filing single, this year for the first time instead of Head Of Household, was 65 on December 31st of last year, and had a low enough income to qualify. But, I did not file that my daughter died! Turbotax is screwing up!?
