If you're saying that you have a report of the income you received in 2016, but you don't have the actual 1099-MISC then just enter the total from the report you have. It is always advisable to get the tax documents, but if you have the exact numbers that would be present on the form...just use your report to enter the total. The Form 1099-MISC is not sent in with the tax return anyway.

To enter these payments just total up all the payments you received, and follow these steps:

  • Log into your tax return.
  • Use the search box in the upper right hand corner and type in "schedule c" in the box, then click enter.
  • This will bring up the "Jump to schedule c" link...click that link.
  • From here Turbo Tax will ask you some specific questions about your business.
  • After you have answered the questions, Turbo Tax will ask you to input you income.
  • You will choose to input your income by clicking on the Start button for General Income (see screenshots below)
  • Once your income is entered, Turbo Tax will bring you to the screen for you to choose what expenses you would like to enter onto your tax return.
