If you receive a 1098-E, Student Loan Interest Statement, you can get a credit for the interest paid.

1.  Go to Federal, next, Deductions and Credits.

2.  Select Education (make sure all Deduction and Credits are displayed).

3.  Choose Student Loan Interest Paid (Form 1098-E).

4.  Now, you can answer the questions and enter the information from your 1098-E.
