We are legally divorced for over a year but living together and my spouse did not work for the entire year of 2016 and I supported her what should I do

From what I know, since your spouse did not work, and you are both still living together-you claim her by filing married and jointly.  Even though you are separated, if the divorce is not final, you file married, but separately or married jointly.  Those are the only two options you have.  A spouse can not be a dependent...but filing jointly gives you a tax break bc you supported her.  Hope that helps.
