We are going to a new address on April 24th. Should we report our present address on our return or our new address after the 24th?

We are moving to a new address on April 24th, but filing for an extension before the 15th of April. While filling out our return to get the figures required by the Extension request, do we put our present address on the return or the one that will be our address after April 24th? Will we use our new address when we file our return in the October deadline for an extension's return?

You should use your current address on your return and change it when you file your return. That way the IRs has your most current address on file.

Use the address you want to have the IRS contact you at if they need to communicate with you.
