UNDER SPOUSES PERSONAL INFO SHE PASSED AWAY IN AUGUST OF 2022 AND IT WONT ACCEPT THIS DATE TO LET ME CONTINUE WHY?

If she passed in 2022, and we are working on 2023, you would not list your spouse for 2023.

You would have listed her for your 2022 return, indicated that she passed and then entered the date.

You don't list her for 2023.

If you have dependent children at home, you might file as "Surviving Spouse" otherwise you file for 2023 as Single.
