In the "Wages and Income" section, I have entered data for 1099-INT and 1099-DIV.  However, the button on the far right does not recognize that anything has been entered.  It still says "START" rather the "UPDATE".

When you have exited that section (i.e., the button still says START) and then re-enter, is the data that you previously entered still there? And have you looked on your 1040 to make sure that the interest and dividends are there?

In this case, I would say that it doesn't matter that the button doesn't change to UPDATE.

Others have noted in the past that the buttons for Interest and Dividends don't change from Start to Update.  And my own desktop copy does the same thing.   When I click on the blue Start button, it still correctly brings up the Interest Summary screen or the Dividend Summary screen, respectively.  So as @BillM223 indicated, if you are seeing those summary screens when you click on START, and they are correct, you should be OK.  Also adjacent to each of those blue buttons should be a column with a running total of the interest/dividends you've entered so far.  And another column showing the figures from last year.  Do you see those 2 columns of figures adjacent to the buttons for 2022 and 2023?

You can also go into Forms Mode and verify there is a Schedule B as well as all the generated copies of your 1099's in the left column forms list, and you can view the Form 1040 as BillM223 suggested.
