I struggled several months to cope with glitches on my download of TT Premier desktop. Information I filled in often changed when I re-entered the program. TT specialists did not seem to recognize that there was a software problem, but helped me input the correct information. Finally, thanks to the patience and help of a TT specialist, I made the necessary changes and the FINAL REVIEW spotted no errors. But then, just prior to the filing, the line showing total income was filled in as --$3,000 ! This figure seemed to come out of nowhere as was the case of previous nonsense filled in. I corrected the figure to represent the large figure of total income. TT e-filed and the IRS quickly accepted the return.
It is difficult to stop worrying as I've been doing so for weeks. Finally, the last TT specialist told me that the problem could be incompatibility with TT and MAC computers. It this is the case, I need to know in advance of next year's taxes. Meanwhile, can I stop worrying about the forms just filed since TT presented no further errors?
Hitherto, I have relied on the promise of "Taxes done right."
Any advice as to how I might proceed with next year's taxes would be greatly appreciated.
