TurboTax, I am getting annoyed by the TurboTax Online repeated predatory attempts to force me to set up a credit carma account. These are set ups as either as "consents to share your data within intuit products" or "necessary steps allowing you to track your tax returns". In first case they are made to look like a typical online consent to proceed with TurboTax, the second one forces you to proceed if you don't want to loose a "critical" functionality to track your taxes. Both are misleading, morally wrong and aim to take advantage of people who do not understand what they are being asked for.
I understand that you are trying to sell another product. I am fine with that, but please do it in a transparent and straightforward way, so that I don't feel like I am being scammed by my own tax software. If this continues for next year I will be forced to switch my online tax software, even if it means going through a hustle of loosing all of my saved data and setting up a new account.
I wonder if anybody else here shares my feelings on this topic?
