Turbotax Income Summary of "Wages and Salaries" is higher than W2 wages

Hi Turbotax experts,

I am using the 2023 Turbotax. After completing the Federal Tab's "Income Section" I was alarmed as I looked at the summary page. After clicking Done with income, my "Here's a picture of your 2023 Income" page that shows Total Income seems to be MESSED UP. It is exactly $2600 higher than my W2 wage, in which $2600 is my child's FSA within the W2 form. Only if I input $2600 left, my summary could match my W2, but I am supposed to input 0 instead of $2600, right? I did not have this issue when I used Turbotax 2022 a year ago.

I am looking forward to your response and expertise, thanks a lot.

When you enter the amounts from box 10 on your W-2 into TurboTax, that income because taxable on your return until you enter the childcare expenses in the Deductions and Credits section.   Once you enter the amounts and provider details there, the box 10 income will be non-taxable.    Once you are done visiting the credit section, your FSA amounts will show correctly.

Follow these steps to get to the Child and Dependent Care Credit in TurboTax.

Note: If your TurboTax navigation looks different from what’s described here, learn more.

  1. If you're not in your return already, sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Select either Edit or Pick up where you left off under Deductions and Credits.
  3. Select You and Your Family.
  4. Select Start/Review next to Child and Other Dependent Tax Credits.
  5. Answer the questions to complete the section.
