I have a problem entering my stocks and crypto information.
My experience is that when I call, some times the first level specialists may not be fully aware and I sometimes get answers that aren't entirely correct.
Is there a polite way to ask to talk to someone higher up?
I understand that here people tell me to call TT which I will do, but just in case any one does have an answer I'll explain here too.
Here's the problem(we use TT premier online)
1040 has one line that asks if you have traded crypto, I want this checked YES
We generate our 8949 with another software (due to a large number of trades and wash sales), enter sales sections totals and then attach the 8949 as a pdf file. So everything including Crypto is already included.
But this year TT has a separate section for Cryto but since I've already reported everything when doing the stocks section I don't need to do this part.
So is there a way for me to have the question regarding virtual currency on my 1040 checked YES while not doing the Crypto part in TT?
Many thanks

Yes, you can answer the cryptocurrency question in TurboTax.
While buying and holding crypto doesn’t require a yes, you need to check that box if you sold, exchanged, mined digital assets, or used it for purchases.
After you finish entering details of income click on Wrap up income at the bottom of the page

Continue through the interview to this next question.
I didn't quite understand what you had completed, but you will have to enter any Crypto, or stock information into TurboTax to make your return complete.
Thank you for your detailed response. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I'll try to explain.
Below is the screen I arrive at.
I complete the stocks, bonds and mutual funds as follows: I do sales section totals and I attach a pdf of my 8949 at the end of the interview. The sales section totals include all of our crypto transactions and these transaction are also reflected on the attached 8949.
So I need to skip the Cryptocurrency interview to avoid double reporting,
'But' I still need that question regarding crypto on my 1040 to be checked 'YES'
So if Turbotax takes me through the steps you kindly wrote for me (where I answer YES) and does not take me back or force me to do the Crypto interview then I don't have a problem. I can skip the Crypto interview while still having the Crypto question on my 1040 answered as a YES.
