Turbo Tax

When ready to prepare a state return the software stated that since my state of residence is Florida, I would not likely need to file a return.  I selected not to file, but the software would not let me proceed without completing the state return.  Once I completed all the steps and clicked on 'Exit' the software stated I had not completed the return than went back through the steps already completed.   This was a continuous do-loop until I was finally able to exit by filing the federal return only.  What gives with this software?  Will I need to file a state return for Florida?

Turbo Tax

Florida doesn't have a state income tax, so you can't file a Florida state return.  Did you live in another state last year and have income in another state that collects income taxes?  Those reasons would be why you would need to file a state income tax return.

Refer to the State of Florida website for more information.
