TT 2024 using Win11 still will not install in any directory other than Program Files\TurboTax\Individual 2024 even when given the option during installation to install in for example Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Individual 2024.
This is the same problem that first occurred in TT 2023, was reported then and still not fixed by Intuit.

As you discovered last year, TurboTax installs and runs without any problems when you install it in the default directory. They changed the default directory from previous years. There is no need to install it in a different directory, and you had a problem last year when you forced it to install in a different directory.
The only problem is that it appears to offer you the ability to install in a different directory, but that option doesn't work. Very few users even noticed the problem or complained about it. It appears that TurboTax is not going to fix it. Just let it install in the default directory. It works fine that way. Having the software in a different directory from previous years does not cause any problems other than an aesthetic problem. The basic goal of the installation is to have a working tax program. Installing in the default directory accomplishes that goal.
Thanks for your reply. As noted this has been a problem for 2+ years of TT releases and they refuse/will not fix it. At the very least they should remove the false option. Ideally fix the problem so that the installing user can specify whatever folder they want to use. There is absolutely no reason why this capability shouldn't be available.
