I have TT 2024 desktop. *EVERY* time I try to open the program I get a message "we recommend restarting your system to prevent possible application errors" I restart. SAME error EVERY TIME. If I don't restart, I get a crash report "Looks like we've run into an error". I've added exceptions to my antivirus and malwarebytes. No windows defender. Set the app to run as administrator. Forced "run as admin" when I launched the app. Windows 10 Pro. 16 gb ram. Have to say, that this is certainly looking like the year to switch to a different program! TIA for any help in resolving this.

You'll need to following the thread for my post and go to weblink within the post to Microsoft and download the 64 bit C++ redistrib. Then reboot and then try to run turbotax again. If this isn't done to install this on your laptop, youll not get it to work.
I had the exact same problem attempting to launch TurboTax Premier 2024 on my Windows 10 computer. I installed TT a few weeks ago and it ran up until the last few days without any problems. VERY FRUSTRATING. I fixed it by uninstalling Microsoft patch KB5048652, which had recently been installed on my system. Intuit needs to investigate this problem, because KB5048652 addresses some vulnerabilities and will need to be installed on our computers.
see my post from yesterday.

OK. Giving that a try. I'll let you know! 🙂 Thanks.
@swegmike Thanks for the C++ tip. That solved the problem. It's a shame that Intuit/TT hasn't documented this anywhere (actually a shame that it's actually a problem!) Still, seriously looking for an alternative program. I **SO** want to get away from Intuit and their less-than-stellar program
Dido. I've got the same issue. Crickets on Intuit's side.
