An overpayment is a term used for a refund because of an overpayment of tax. It is recommended that the full amount be refunded to you and not applied as an estimated tax payment for next year.

An overpayment is a term used for a refund because of an overpayment of tax. It is recommended that the full amount be refunded to you and not applied as an estimated tax payment for next year.

For the 2nd year in a row Turbotax double counted the state tax refund that i applied to the next year's taxes. My state tax people had to correct it twice.
