There is no box B for employer federal ID. Is this right?

The IRS requires that your employer fill in this field - the Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Call them immediately and ask for a corrected W-2.

If they will tell you the EIN over the phone, then put it in your W-2 and file...but ask for the corrected W-2 anyway, because a copy will be sent to the IRS, which is in the university's best interests.
