My son is 24 and still a full-time student and lived at home for 8 months, he earned more than $4000 working part-time how can i claim him as a dependent?

I'm filing married jointly,we have a son who is 24 and lived with us for 8 months. He has a part-time job where he made more than $4000 for 2015, but he is still a full-time student. When I started filling out my return using the Deluxe return, I was never asked if he was still a student. We have another son who is 22, college grad, working, made more than $4000 for 2015 but still lives at home. Can we still claim him? I think we should still be allowed to claim them since we supported both of them.

The 24 year old is not a dependent, the $4000 limit is fixed rule.  The 22 year old can be a dependent if he is in school full time and does not provide more than half his own support.

The $4000 is for a "Qualifying Relative" not for a "Qualifying Child".  However, since it appears that he was not "under the age of 24" on December 31, 2015 you can not claim him.
