If you received the Premium Tax Credit as a monthly advance (APTC) to reduce your healthcare premiums, the credit amount was an estimate. It was based on your 2016 estimated income.

If your income for 2016 was more than you estimated, you may have to pay back some of the credit and this is the reason why your refund went down when you entered your 1095-A

Can you please check that I will still be receiving my federal refund of $908 after this amendment? Not sure why the new screen says my federal refund is zero.

The refund monitor will reset to zero when you start the amendment interview.  Once you make your changes or additions the monitor will show an additional refund amount due or taxes owed. If your amendment does not change your return the monitor will stay at zero.
When you start an amended tax return, it assumes that you received the original refund....so it only shows the difference between the originally filed tax return and the new one you are preparing.   Thus any changes you make now will result in either an additional refund, or a new tax bill to pay back. And because the amount of the W2 was only 12.00 did not affect the amount of your refund.
IF you are due a refund from the original tax filing, you have to wait for it...and only do the amended tax return once you know your exact situation for the original tax file.
Amendments have to be printed and mailed in but since the W2 didn't change the amount of your return then you don't have to mail in your return.
After you complete the amendment you will have to mail your amended return to the IRS. Please keep checking the TurboTax FAQ for the status of amended return tax forms.
