Sold Rental Loss Carryover Not Inputting

I sold rental properties a few years ago.  I had passive loss carryovers for two years off my earned income. I have not been able to do it as i have in the past by inputting into the "Rentals" Q&A loss carryover question.  I followed the forms quick links to no avail.

I would appreciate some help.

If you accumulated passive losses in the past, and sold the property.

  • All of the passive loss would be applied to the sale.
  • There would no longer be losses to use or carry forward.
  • TurboTax correctly does this automatically.

Please take a look at the IRS topic Passive activities – Losses and credits especially the paragraph labeled Disposition of entire interest
