I do have to two 1098 forms from the house I sold and the house I bought. It makes any different which mortgage I enter it first?

It does not matter which form 1098 you enter first in TurboTax.
Thank you so much. May I ask you another question about Part A, Line 4a - ira, pension section?
What is your question? Line 4a is the total IRA distrbution. Any amount on Line 4b is the taxable portion.
Hi Coleen ,
When I am doing my state taxes , NJ, I am getting this message to check this Entry : " PENSIONS, ANNUITIES AND IRA Workshett-SP: Part A , Line 4a and Part A, line 4b should not both be entered" that is the message that I am getting only PART A, LINE 4A box appears as an option to enter a number, doesn't matter what number I put when I run the smart check it brings me back to the same message.
