Sister staying at my home and taxes

Hello,

I am planning to buy a house in next few months. My sister's work is very flexible and she can work from anywhere. She is planning to live with me in my new house. I don't have any plans to charge any rent to her.  But she might offer paying utility bills or grocery bills once in a while. I dont have any intention of earning money from her. If she pays for any grocery or electricity bills, will this be considered as my source of income ? Do i need to maintain a record of all the things she brought for me ? And since she will not be paying any rent, is there anything she or me need to declare while filling our taxes.

No, as long as she is not paying you rent, she is simply contributing to the household.

She would not claim anything she pays as a business expense.

You would not claim anything she pays as income.
