1. Self employed but I get both a 1099 & W2 from one employer same type of work. Is my 1099 Qualified Bus Income? 2. Net income very high in 2017 very low in 2018 same $$

In 2018 the income was similar but it's throwing me off that in 2017 the net income was the entire 1099 but in 2018 it's a small percentage of the 1099 I received.

Your income from self-employment reported on 1099-Misc would qualify as Qualified Business Income.

I am not sure what the second part of your question is asking.

Thank you so much.  My second question may be affected by the new 2018 QBI rule in which some of the business income is qualified as opposed to before, not QBI I am curious because my 1099s were around the same amount in 2017 $17K and in 2018 $16K but when the system is calculating my Net income my 2017 was closer to the $17K vs my 2018 which came down to $2K.  I hope this makes a difference.
