School doesnt qualify for 1098e

I went to a pharmacy school in California and now my lender said my school doesn’t qualify for me to get 1098e. But i got a 1098T. Can i still claim student loan interest without a 1098e?

Lenders are required to provide students with Form 1098-E when they've paid more than $600 in interest during the year.  Is it possible that you mean that your school wasn't required to provide you with a 1098-E for this reason, as opposed to the school, itself, not qualifying for some reason?

Please see the TurboTax Help article Can I claim my student loan? and the TurboTax Blog Is My Student Loan Tax Deductible? for more information.

Also, see TurboTax Help article "What is an eligible school?" and FAFSA's Federal School Code Search, which might be relevant to what you're asking.

I know i paid more than 2k in student loan interest this year. When i called the lender to ask for the 1098 e. They say my school is not an eligible school so they will not generate a 1098e. We have to finance our loan through private loan loan instead of federal aid. So does that mean i wont be able to write off the interest? I only made 20k last year

You do need a 1098 E in order to claim a student loan deduction.
