Schedule K-1 California Adjustment code error

Hello,

I have a net business loss (box1) for my K-1. When working in my California state taxes, I have a negative adjustment value. However, when I enter the negative value in the California adjustment box, my state refund drops from $7200 to $3600. The same thing happens if I just put a single $1. How can $1 drop my refund by $3500?  I believe there is an error in the state tax coding.

Thanks in advance

Schedule K-1 California Adjustment code error

I have not encountered an error upon entering a different K-1 loss for California than for Federal.

Which version of TurboTax are you using? If you are using a Desktop version, trace your entry through the worksheets in Forms mode to see whether the change to California income affected another calculation.

If you are using TurboTax Online, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your Internet connection. Hardwired connections work best.
  • Try logging out and logging back in again.
  • Try using a different browser. Chrome generally works well.
  • Try clearing your cache and cookies.

If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:

See this help article and this one for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.
