for my 2023 tax filing, in the very last review, I get this message
Schedule B: Line7a should be blank
(checkbox) Lina 7a, No
then an illustration of the schedule B form, and an option to edit Line 7a and two options to choose from (yes) (no)
This is what the form reads:
7 a At any time during 2022, did you have a financial interest in or signature authority over a financial account (such as a bank account, securities account, or brokerage account) located in a foreign country?
If "Yes," are you required to file FinCEN Form 114, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR), to report that financial interest or signature authority? See FinCEN Form 114 and its instructions for filing requirements and exceptions to those requirements
I am a a US citizen and l have lived abroad for the last 23 years. I do have a bank account, but it does not meet the 10k USD threshold.
Any help, much appreciated
