I received first 1099-B from my investment bank in beginning of February. I filled my taxes in first week of March. Then I received corrected 1099-B in late March. The new corrected 1099-B does not include transactions reported in the original 1099-B. The correct should be transaction included in both 1099-B and not in any single one. First 1099-B has transaction from Jan to Jul and second 1099-B, with Corrected check box, has transaction from Aug to Dec.
What should I do now?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You will have to file an amended return to add the transactions on the corrected 1099-B. If you prepared your original tax return using TurboTax, log in to your account, open the tax return you already filed, and click on the link to amend your return. From there, the software will walk you through the process of filing the amendment.
If you didn't use TurboTax to file your tax return, you can use TurboTax to prepare the amendment. However, you'll first have to enter your information into TurboTax to match what you filed the first time, then start the process of amending it.
For additional information on amending returns see the following TurboTax Help Article: How to File an Amended Tax Return with the IRS
