Who Should File Taxes

My Mom is 92 years old and lives with me.  I claim her as a dependent as her income is less than $4,200 not including social security.  Here only income in 2019 is social security and less than $500 in interest she earned from savings of many years.  Does she have to filed an income tax return?

Who Should File Taxes

No, since she is being claimed as your dependent, she would only need to file her own return if her unearned income (interest) exceeded $1100.
