Steve

It is now 2/18 and the form is still not available. We really need to file.
I agree with you. Not sure why Turobtax is taking so long to get the form ready. Form 8915F4-T. Should be 2/18/26 and still not ready as of this afternoon east coast time.
I am having this problem as well is this a form from the IRS or by TurboTax?
It is an IRS form. The IRS shuts down the e-file system in November and begins changing the software for the new season. They start with the most common forms and work their way to the less frequent forms. The 8915 is lower on the list. Once the IRS finishes with a form, our software team can get the form incorporated.
We offer anticipated dates here but they may not coincide with developers pushing out updates.
This form is available on the IRS website and has been since early February. It was supposed to be available yesterday on TurboTax, but still isn't. Why is this taking so long? I'm thinking I need to start using a different software if TurboTax is going to keep dragging it's feet and not being responsive.
that's a TurbpTax designation. There is no separate form 8915F4-T. Nor does it exist on the IRS website only 8915F
4 is for the Part IV section of the 8915, and T indicates it's to be used by the taxpayer.
Is there any update as to when this form will be available
I was informed by management yesterday, February 23rd, that the additional programming still needed to enable filing for Form 8915-F will be completed this Thursday, February 26, 2026. In the meantime, the form is disabled from filing.
You should be able to revisit Form 8915-F by Friday, February 27, 2026. If you are using TurboTax Desktop, be sure to restart the program and run updates.
