Hello TT staff and Community, I just downloaded the 2024 verion of TT, and began inputting data to project my 2024 tax liability. I need to create a separate Form 1099-DIV for each of the eight countries to which I paid foreign income tax on dividends. I have tried unsuccessfuly several times to open a blank form 1099-DIV to continue the process of inputting data. The dialogue box to open a form gives me the choice to either access an existing Form 1099-DIVs or create a new one. I need the latter. However, when I double click the button to open a new form, nothing happens. Would appreciate anyone's feedback. Thanks.

To add a new 1099-DIV you have to enter the payer's name, then click (not double click) the Add Form button. See the screen shot below.
I tried entering the name of a payor, but the program won't allow me to type in a name of a payor.
Make sure your TurboTax software is up-to-date. In Windows, on the "Online" menu select "Check for Updates." On a Mac, quit and reopen the program to check for updates.
What exactly do you mean by "won't allow"? Do you get the Add Form window shown in the screen shot that I posted above? What happens when you click on the box for the payer's name? Do you get a cursor at the left end of that box?
You said you have existing 1099-DIV forms. How did you get those?
Here's another approach to try. Open one of the existing 1099-DIV forms. At the very top of the form, just below your name, it says "QuickZoom to another copy of Form 1099-DIV Worksheet." Click the QuickZoom button on that line and see if you can add another 1099-DIV that way.
I uninstalled TT and reinstalled it. I can now open new form 1099-DIVs to add to the existing ones that properly carried over to 2024 upon the transfer of data from 2023. Thanks to all.
