Unable to delete State form

I moved from Kansas to Tennessee in November 2024. Tennessee has no state income tax, but for the 2024 tax year, I did use Turbotax to file my Kansas taxes. When I did my taxes for 2025, I had no income from Kansas or anything else to report to them. I just had to file my Federal Taxes. Turbotax still started a form for Kansas for me.  I could find no way to delete it at the time, so I just ignored it and filed and paid for my federal filing. There is now no way to print my finalized federal form. It has all this watermark garbage on it because the program still has the Kansas form there that I can find no way to delete.

The basic website instructions on deleting a state for do not work for me.  Apparently this might take some kind of backend magic to fix.  Please help!

It sounds like you may need to update your residency status. To update, you will need to revisit "My info" in the Federal section and tell TurboTax that you reside in another state. First, update your Address and phone number, then when you reach, "Let's check for some other situations". Here, you select Tennessee as your state of residence.

Once you have changed your state of residency in the My info section, try deleting your Kansas state return. 

On the Status of your state returns screen, select the trash can icon next to your state, then select Delete. Here is the link with those instructions.

While the residency was set correctly to Tennessee, a few more pages in there was another setting that carried over from the prior years return that noted the Kansas return.  I was able to delete the Kansas return form from there.  BUT, this did nothing to affect the "Download/print return (PDF)" feature.  It still contains information from the uncompleted Kansas return.  I guess I can just print the relevant pages of the Federal return for my files.  

You might consider reporting this issue to the development staff.
