After three weeks of customer complaints TT deluxe for windows desktop still does not list Merrill Lynch, Merrill Edge etc for import of data. This should have been addressed immediately. What is going on at TT????

My understanding is that they're working on it and Merrill's 1099-Bs are not ready for import anyway.
Also note that the other major DIY tax programs don't have Merrill Edge (yet) either.
Thanks for this. It would be a major flaw if TT did not give access to Merrill. Hopefully they will fix this quickly to reassure customers that data will be available for import when ML makes it available.

Well, THAT'S for sure - as well as the other DIY providers!
Does TT monitor these discussions? If so they should reassure users that Merrill will definitely be there.

I agree wholeheartedly but, unfortunately, Intuit does not monitor posts for this type of anomaly.
Regardless, it will be known, for certain, within the next two weeks. In fact, as soon as Merrill makes downloads of their 1099s available, it should be obvious at that time if there is an issue with TurboTax or any other software.
Note that H&R Block does not list Merrill Edge as an import option either (at this time).
Merrill now posts the following in its website:
"If you use financial software, tax statements can be downloaded beginning February 1"
I will let Merrill know tomorrow. How can we contact TT to let them know there is a problem???

Intuit is aware at this point and there is definitely a lag between when tax reporting statements can be downloaded and when they are ready to be imported into tax preparation software programs.
H&R Block also does not currently list Merrill Edge as an import option. I'm fairly confident this issue will be resolved within the next week or so.
I notified Merrill Lynch this morning and I hope it gets to the right department. The person who worked with me on the problem was able to see Merrill- Merrill Edge on the on line version of TT but not in the desktop version. TT needs to get its act together quickly. Any suggestions on a work around if only available on the on line version?

I'm sure Intuit will release an update that will resolve this issue. H&R Block's desktop software also does not show Merrill Edge in their import feature list.
