What about the incorrect payer's TIN?
If it is the state EIN then it will go exactly as I said.
If it is the federal EIN then it may cause a delay for the filing of your return while they have to manually compare the return to get the EIN correct. But since the amounts in the boxes are correct it will eventually go through.
I already received my tax refund. Does that mean there is nothing to worry about and no further action is required on my part?
No, it does not mean that. You omitted income when you initially filed. You will now have to amend to include that income.
I did not omit income. I was asking what happens if the payer's TIN number was entered incorrectly and I have already received my tax refund. Is there any further action required on my part.
@Arch Stanton You do not need to do anything further to correct the TIN number that you entered incorrectly. It is a minor oversight and should not create further issues.
