Entering 0.00 for spouse AGI worked for me.
Still a problem in October 2025. Causes return to be rejected. Seems like a simple programming issue. Turbotax knows that taxes were filed jointly in the prior year and the current year, so why is it submitting an AGI for a spouse for the prior year?
In case anyone still having thisissue in Oct 24, this solution worked for me.
TL, DR: 0.00 worked for me too!
Situation:
- I filed late for 2023 ( filed in Sept 24 )
- Filed married jointly
- when efiled for 2024 on Oct 15, 2024, I got an error that my spouse’s AGI is not matching. Turbotax was showing the same amount for both of us when first time I efiled.
- after the first error, i resubmitted checking that was the amount reported on line 11 of 2023 return. It still got rejected.
- I searched and eneded up on this thread where the suggestion is to enter ‘0’ ( just zero, no decimal). This got rejected too!
Finally, as a last resort, I tried entering 0.00 as suggested here. Note that turbo tax showed me 0. in t he box for AGI, I did not change it, and resubmitted, and …. voila! I got a text that it is accepted!
I was so frustrated and almost ready to paper file, but 0.00 saved me. Thank you so much! 🙏
