My husband is detained for the whole year of 2024, not incercerated and we are married filing jointly how does this affect filing my taxes
If your husband is detained, you can generally still file as "Married Filing Jointly." You will need to report both of your incomes as applicable, and you might need to use a power of attorney if your husband is not available to sign. For more information, you can refer to the IRS guidelines on filing status and power of attorney.
