It worked for me Thank you!
The only way we can fix this is by downloading Visual C++ from Microsoft and install it. Bellow is the link:
Thanks, DR777. I followed the instructions and was able to load the download page. Now how come intuit is not aware of this issue and should have proactively addressed it. They should bring back the CD.
downloading and installing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable latest. Resolved the issue.

Microsoft C++ installation worked. I had to install Microsoft Visual studio first and once in stalled went to advanced settings in the App and select C++ as an add on.
I am having the same issue with the desktop version. I think Windows 11 update broke it.
This is way beyond my pay grade need more help.
Tried clearing cache and cookies, tried running as an administrator, tried disabling antivirus and firewall. I don't see what a different browser would do for a desktop program, especially since I cannot even open the problem.
Running as admin, turning off antivirus and firewall, clearing cache and cookies did not work.
Tried, did not work.
So.
I tried all suggestions and gave up on turbotax on Windows 11.
After a windows 11 update, I did a fresh install and the program worked for about 2 weeks. Then it dies.
Fortunately, I have a decommissioned windows 10 computer that worked just fine.
Transferred all the files and finished all but 1 tax return.
I will have till November 2025 to finish the last one when support for windows 10 ends.
In my opinion, the problem seems to be with the activation of the software since you have to have a online account to authorize the use of turbo tax. You cannot just enter the subscription code onto the computer. So the program needs to be able to verify the authorization online.
