You appear to be posting from TurboTax online which is the web based version used in a browser.   The software sold buy Costco is the *desktop* version that is installed and run on your computer - no website involved at all and nothing to "log into"  totally different.

It depends what you mean by "transfer."   Do you want to move a 2019 return you started online and finish it in the desktop software?    Or are you asking how to transfer-in 2018 data from last year's return into your 2019 desktop product?

This answer assumes you started a 2019 online return and want to move it and finish it in your Costco purchased software..

Here's how to download the *.tax2019 data file you started in Online TurboTax, so you can open and finish it in the desktop software.

  • Sign in to your Online account and choose to open/continue your return.
  • Once the return is open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS and then TOOLS.
  • In the Tools Center pop-up, select "Save your 2019 return to your computer."
  • The file will download with the name taxReturn.tax2019.
  • (Optional) Locate the downloaded file and change the default filename to something more recognizable, for example JohnDoeTaxReturn.tax2019 (just make sure you don't change the filename extension to the right of the dot).
  • Your online return is now saved in a format can be opened in the TurboTax desktop software.

NOTE:  If you've already been preparing a state return Online, then that data file will have the state return in it, too.   If so, you'll need to download the state program into your desktop software before opening the file, or it will give you an error notice.    To do that,  you may have to start a temporary dummy desktop return just long enough to download the state program.   You can later delete that temporary dummy return.
