The root cause we have found for this error is the internet connection is unable to resolve connection to our server for activation of the License. There can be many reasons for this and it may not impact regular internet usage and activity.
To resolve this issue please follow the steps below to fix.If the below steps resolve your issue TurboTax will skip activation and open to the main getting started page.

These 4 "solutions" are BS. No way should I need to start monkeying around with IP settings to get this program to work. Even disabling the antivirus protection is bogus. TT needs to make an update that works. Apparently, I've used up my 5 licenses, so now I'm blocked out of using TT, which I paid for and is loaded on my computer. Not good TT!!

Actually, I did get activated by following the advice about networking glitches. I agree this shouldn't have been necessary, but it's totally easy and riskless, so I recommend trying it. It's much simpler than organizing all your stuff so you can do your taxes ( which, of course, you have to do anyway😣
This fix is 100% unacceptable for 3 reasons 1) Most people are NOT proficient enough to mess with their internet, firewalls, network settings 2) I personally have a camera system that is on my network plus many smart home devices that could possibly be compromised should I change any protocols which I will then have to call in a tech $$$ 3) TurboTax should put out an update since their product is inferior and does not work as promised. It's like buying a new car and having to jump start it every time you get in and then they send you directions on how to fix the wiring, unacceptable.
