I did my 2019 state and federal taxes and it says federal pending, but said state printed and ready to mail. Did I do something worng?

It depends.

There could be several reasons for this.

Did you receive any messages saying you had to mail your state return in?  If so, this may be why you are getting this message.  You would need to print your state return and mail it in.

Did you file your federal return only and elect to mail your state return in?

Regardless of the reason, you can still submit your state return for electronic filing as long as you have not mailed your state return in.

1. Sign in to TurboTax. 
2. You should be able to see Your Tax Returns & documents  
3. Select show here. 
4. Select 2019
5. Select Add a state

This will allow you to see your state return.  (You do not need to actually add a state, but this will allow you to access your existing state return.)

You will then be able to try to electronically file your state return.
