Hi, quick question - How would I go about receiving the first stimulus? I'm currently on SSI, ( Supplemental Security Income). I didn't receive it this year because I was put down as a dependant for 2019 - (I was't put down as a dependant for this year). Do I have to call the IRS or fill tax paperwork to claim the money? Or would it go on my Direct Express? Thanks for any advice.

suggesting filing one of the "free" tax returns as the only thing that will be on there is the stimulus payment - look at line 30 on Form 1040 when you are done which is where the credit will appear.
first question: CAN you be claimed as a dependent by someone else in 2020? it is immaterial whether you WERE claimed in 2020. See the difference? If you CAN be claimed even if you WEREN'T claimed, you are not eligible for the stimulus.
2nd question: do you normally file a tax return?
My gf added me for her 2019 taxes as a non relative but removed me or didn't include me with her 2020 taxes. How would the IRS determine I'm still a dependant when I was left off of her taxes and there is no proof that she supports me? I basically support myself now. Love to know this....
NO, I don't file tax returns because I have a disability and can not work.

Ok, thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.
