Automatic refunds for unemployment - CA

Hi, I filed my 2020 taxes before the unemployment tax credit came out. They said I would get a refund in the mail automatically but I still have not . Is there a number I can call and will everyone who this applied to get a refund or are there stipulations? Can you please provide a number to call?

Automatic refunds for unemployment - CA

@Jensworld

Unemployment is not taxed by CA, and that was true, even before the federal exclusion for tax year 2020.

That being said, some, but not all, CA taxpayers who received unemployment during 2020 will be eligible for an additional refund.  The following link to the CA Franchise Tax Board newsroom provides three scenarios, and what, if anything, needs to be done by the taxpayer. https://www.ftb.ca.gov/about-ftb/newsroom/2020-tax-return-changes/unemployment-and-2020-tax-returns....

If you reported unemployment income, had Federal AGI less than $40,201(single) or $50,401(married filing joint) and DID NOT claim Cal EITC, you will need to follow the instructions listed under scenario three. An amended return is not required. For taxpayers who do not meet these criteria, nothing needs to be done.
