Am I eligible for Stimulus check?

Hello,

I for the first time this year I did my own taxes on turbo tax. I unfortunately, confused, put myself down for someone else to claim me.  My parents are not claiming me nor anyone else.

I saw that you are ineligible to receive a stimulus check if you don't claim yourself. I was not dependent in 2019. I amended the return hoping that would fix the situation to get myself on track to get the stimulus check. But my mom has stated to me that you have to recalculate your income or they wont take it. I did my taxes through turbo tax and nothing was needed to change besides me to claim myself. I also would hope that turbo tax would notify me if i had any adjustments to be calculated?

Have I done this correctly? I am so confused and don't know what's right or wrong.

Thanks

Am I eligible for Stimulus check?

Yes, if you can be claimed as a dependent then you cannot receive the stimulus payment. Please see Who can I claim as my dependent? for details.

If you cannot be claimed as a dependent then you will need to file an amended return (1040X) and uncheck that you can be claimed. The IRS will only accept amended returns via mail. Usually, it takes up to 16 weeks to process Form 1040X but the IRS is currently not processing any paper returns. Therefore, it might be taking even longer.
