83(b) Election & Tax Filing

Hi,

I have an 83(b) Election filed last year (2019) for the stock I was given and I also paid for it and I sent it to the IRS within 30 days. Now this year (2020), while filing my taxes, do I have to include a copy of it while filing my taxes or what should I exactly do with it?

Thank you

No, you don’t have to include a copy.

In fact, there's no longer a need to report an 83(b) election on your tax return.  Please see the TurboTax Help article How do I report an 83(b) election on my taxes?for more information.

83(b) Election & Tax Filing

Got it, so there is nothing I have to do with it while filing my taxes this year?

This 83(b) is from my own tech start-up that is pre-revenue with funding and there is no W-2 for it as I did not pay myself from it last year. I had a different day job for which I will be filing the taxes this year.
