Question regarding mortgage tax form 1098 for deceased

Thank you in advance if anyone can answer my question and/or give me an advise...

My husband passed away last year(after tax season). He had a small property which I wasn't on title. He put his friend back then on title, which was way before I married him. This 'friend wasn't responsible for paying any mortgage or tax or insurance by agreement, and after my husband's passing I paid the mortgage up to June last year.

Now I am preparing for tax. I called the mortgage co to send the form 1098 for up to June '23 to my current mailing address and the rep said they cannot send me since I'm not authorized.

So, are they sending my husband's partner person two separate forms? meaning the form which I'm(my husband was) supposed receive as well as the form for him(partner )?

With a third party on title, you're going to need an attorney for this.
