Paid Travel for Independent Contractors

I'm a sports official that was invited to attend a regional sports tournament. The organizing body of the tournament is purchasing airline tickets and lodging expenses on my behalf and paying me a stipend for food and other expenses. How do I report this for tax purposes?

Assuming that you are an independent contractor and you receive a 1099-NEC for those costs you would report it as income and then offset it by reporting the cost as an expense on your Schedule C.
