Paid $940 to IRS via Direct Pay after TurboTax directed me to do so. Now TurboTax asks for payment method for the $940 owed. Already paid. How can I avoid double payment?

After completing my taxes with TurboTax, I learned I owe $940 to the IRS. TurboTax charged $100 for its services but didn't provide an option to pay the IRS directly. I inquired and was directed to pay via the IRS Direct Pay website, which I did. Now, as I finalize my TurboTax filing, it's asking how I want to pay the $940 owed, not recognizing my previous payment. I'm concerned about accidentally making a double payment. How can I resolve this issue to ensure only one payment is made?

Tell TurboTax that you will mail a check.  Do not really mail one.

Telling the program to mail the payment is the only answer. This does nothing to your account and the IRS does not care how the payment is made. You have already paid and it should be credited to your account so there is nothing left to do but relax.
